Do not wait; the time will never be 'just right.' Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along. - George Herbert

Stop Stalling and Just Start

We have to start somewhere. But sometimes we stall so much our dreams start to rot.

One of the biggest forms of stalling is overplanning. Planning makes us feel like we’re headed somewhere. Planning is good. Setting goals is good. But when we start circling around and priding ourselves on how amazing our plans are, we can exhaust our energy and lose the motivation to actually start.

It doesn’t matter if you’re in the most perfect place with the best tools and the right mindset. Just take the first step toward the direction of your dreams. See how it feels.

We need that first step because we’re so very afraid of it. It’s a strange, irrational fear, but fear nonetheless. And it’s paralyzing. But it doesn’t have to be. And the only way to stop feeling that fear and move forward is to…move forward.

So, stop stalling and just start.
