Do the difficult things while they are easy and do the great things while they are small. A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step. - Lao Tzu

The Easy Road Makes for a Hard Life

The consequence of doing what’s easy now is that we often end up having a harder time later. It’s like the instant versus delayed gratification conundrum. Easy is actually harder in the long run.

We might choose easy because it keeps us comfy, whereas hard forces us to do something new, stretch our brains, or maybe take a risk.

Plus, as we get older we may grow tired and less motivated to change.

Therefore, do the hard thing now while you’re the youngest you’ll ever be so that life’s a little bit easier later.
